Great and favourable location in a pretty quiet area near the historic centre of Quito, and the presidential palace. Nearby Bandido Brewing - great place to chill out. Appetising and excellent meals.

Our stay at Casa San Marcos was absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect, just a few blocks away from the main plaza and surrounded by charming restaurants and attractions. The hotel itself was filled with antiques and art, giving it a unique and beautiful atmosphere. The staff, especially Daniel, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, providing us with helpful sightseeing advice and arranging transportation for us. Our room, the Altillo, was cozy and comfortable, with enough space for the three of us. The breakfast served in the sun room was delicious, offering a variety of options. Although there were a few minor issues, such as the lack of readily available drinking water and safety concerns with the steep roof and stairwell, these did not significantly impact our overall experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend Hotel Casa San Marcos for anyone looking for a perfect base to explore the historic sights of Quito. I had a fantastic stay at this hotel.

A deluxe king room with a view has basic facilities you need. Everyone is very very nice and owner too. Also, the location is marvellous, minutes from Sucre House Museum...

This hotel in the enchanting old town is an absolute gem. The rooms are cozy and beautifully furnished, with fireplaces and stunning views of historic Quito. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay, and the breakfast, served with a great view over the city, is simply delightful. Plus, the hotel's location is perfect, with memorable restaurants just a few minutes' walk away.

No complaints - everything was perfect!

Casa San Marcos is well located in the historical center of Quito. The entire hotel is decorated with antiquities (most of which are also for sale). A fire burns each night in one of the large common rooms, where a self-serve bar complements the regular service. The rooms are fitted into an old building, creating unique floor-plans and window openings. Flowers are fresh and abundant, particularly roses. The staff is more helpful than anywhere else that I recall.

Noise - if any - spreads easily through the historically well-matched, but quite thin, doors to the rooms. Some rooms don't have a fully separated bathroom.

If your idea of the ideal lodging is slick, corporate, sterile and impersonal, Casa San Marcos is not for you. If the thought of having the in-house classically-trained chef prepare an exquisite meal to your specifications and have it served (impeccably) on an oversized coffee table with fine wines in front of a warm crackling fire sounds more like your style, book it now. Breakfast, by the way, is also delicious and is served on a beautiful, private heated terrace. A gorgeously restored 17th century mansion filled with exquisite antiques, this Casa is situated on a beautiful quiet street in a lovely part of town. Mayra and her staff, most of whom speak fluent English, will do their best to accommodate your every need.

Our only suggestion for Mayra would be to promote the in-house dining options more aggressively. We were initially surprised to learn that dinner was offered.

The hotel is lovely and very unusual in that it contains art pieces and antiques throughout. The atmosphere is very refined yet comfortable. Every need that we expressed was met quickly and with warmth. I can't remember being better cared for during a hotel stay.

Found a gem in the city

Just had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday in the old city! Loved the complimentary drinks upon arrival and breakfast every day. Walking distance to shops and sightseeing places was a great convenience. The decor was really nice and gave it an old-time historical vibe. The staff were amazing and went all out to make us feel at home. We also had a great view from our room that made it feel like our little oasis.

The only thing that bothered us was the street noise at night. We could hear revellers and the traffic from our room, which made it a bit hard to sleep at times.

The hotel is conveniently located in a historic area close to the main square, which offers visitors a chance to experience the city’s culture through the museum, the art gallery, and the World Heritage Site. The rooms are well-furnished with some charming decor and comfortable beds. Breakfast is delicious and served in a beautiful restaurant. Staff members are pleasant and helpful. Guests can enjoy the view from big windows and admire memorable antiques.

The hotel lacks a well-functional lift.

I recently stayed at this charming hotel nestled in the heart of a historical neighborhood. The attention to detail and value for money were exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable. I particularly loved my room with a balcony offering breathtaking views of the enchanting city. The breakfast served with a great view over the city was the perfect way to start the day.

All was great, no improvements needed.

Nestled in ideal old town location, like a museum, beautiful antique decor, excellent staff, exceptional views, special birthday treat.

    Nothing not to love.
